At the last EA General Assembly in Berlin we informed you about the GDPR and the provisions for accreditation. ENISA (European Network and Information Security Agency) published now a report destined to familiarise data protection experts with the terminology of certification and to clarify concepts which are relevant to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) certification (see "the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) certification". The report also includes the accreditation of certification bodies.
As reported at the last EA GA, some member states have not yet decided which option of accreditation (see GDPR Article 43) they will use. Therefore we would like to encourage you to get in contact with your authorities and convince them that accreditation according Regulation 765/2008 is the best option.
